About the Chaplaincy
The Roman Catholic Chaplaincy Department at Sligo University Hospital is committed to providing compassionate pastoral, spiritual and sacramental care to patients, their families and hospital staff. The service is available to all people, irrespective of faith tradition, religious affiliation or cultural background. The hospital also provides a chapel for prayer, worship and quiet reflection.
The chaplaincy team works as part of the wider healthcare community, supporting the spiritual, emotional and pastoral needs of those entrusted to their care. Through attentive listening, prayer, sacramental ministry and pastoral accompaniment, the team seeks to foster hope, dignity and healing.
Mass is usually celebrated in the hospital chapel:
• Monday to Friday at 1.00 pm
• Sunday at 8.30 am
Patients, relatives, visitors and staff are warmly welcome to attend where possible.

The Chaplaincy Team of Sligo University Hospital provide Chaplaincy services to St John’s Community Hospital, Sligo. This includes pastoral care to the Adult Mental Health Unit.
Mass is celebrated in St John’s every Sunday at 11.15am.
